Description
Slate is a natural material and each piece has its own characteristics. In addition to the marks, lines and veins, which are exposed as the product is shaped, there may also be some variations in colour and speckles. Each piece of slate is uniquely beautiful. Because of the nature of
slate, some cheeses may leave dark spots on the board if left for a prolonged period of time. If this happens, simply wipe the entire
board with olive oil otherwise this board can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Made of natural slate, a fine-grained rock derived from an original shale-type sedimentary rock comprised of clay or volcanic ash. Non-porous with a smooth surface and hand-crafted edges. Since slate is a natural material, each piece will have its own characteristics of colour, marks, and lines. Swissmar slate boards provide a unique and handsome presentation for a selection of cheeses, appetizers or bite-sized desserts. The non-skid felt pads on the bottom protect surfaces.
