Description

No kitchen is complete without a Victorinox 42990 Combination Stone to help you keep your blades sharp. A dull blade makes even the simplest slicing tasks stressful. Not only does it take longer to power through product, but the extra force put into using a dull blade can be a quick avenue to an accident. Keep your blades performing at their best with a quality sharpening stone! This double sided stone has a coarse side for reshaping and reforming your edge and a fine side for honing, strengthening, and finishing. The Crystolon Combination Stone is particularly good at sharpening badly worn blades quickly and is the perfect companion piece to any kitchen kit!

The Making of The Name

The Making of The Name

Originating from inside Karl Elsener's cutler workshop in 1884, Victorinox stands for quality, functionality, innovation & iconic design & has done so for more than 130 years! Victorinox comes from Karl's mother's name Victoria & inox, the international term for stainless steel. Combining the two words "Victoria" & "Inox" gives the name of the company & brand today - Victorinox.

Swiss Army Knife

Swiss Army Knife

In 1891, Karl Elsener delivered the first major supply of 'soldiers knives' to the Swiss Army. The term 'Swiss Army Knife' was coined by American soldiers after World War II due to the difficulty in pronouncing its German name. By 1945, the Swiss Army Knife becomes known all over the world. US soldiers buy it in large quantities & it becomes a popular souvenir to take home.

Long Term Thinking

    Nice bench stones

Arrived intact! I really like the retro boxes, but of course I’ve made my own wooden boxes for them. I’ve used Norton stones for more than 30 years for sharpening everything from kitchen knives to speed skates.

The India stones are simply the best.
