Different opinions on the ideal cognac glass are as old as the drink itself. Even today, cognac is mainly served in wide tulip-shaped glasses - in spite of the disadvantages which this traditional shape has for the enjoyment of cognac. The differences in colour, aroma and taste are the features by which the quality of a cognac is judged. The finely tuned shape of this glass harmonizes the aroma and the taste, tempering the alcohol and the stringency of the palate and emphasizing the bouquet. The flute-shaped glass allows its contents a very small evaporation surface. You will be surprised to detect no pungent fumes but delicately balanced aromas reminiscent of a summer meadow.

Fine Crystal, Machine-Made. All Riedel glasses are dishwasher proof according to DIN EN 12857-1/2:2005.

Ideal for the following grapes:
Armagnac, Brandy, Calvados, Cognac V.S.O.P., Cognac XO, Rum, V.S.O.P., XO

VINUM (1986) became the first machine-made glass in history to be based on the characteristics of grape varietal. VINUM was not developed on a drawing board, but in tasting work shops based on the performance where the content commands the shape. The pleasure of enjoying fine wine starts with the right glass. VINUM is executed in fine crystal, machine blown in Bavaria, Germany.

Riedel Canada

Riedel is shipped free across Canada on orders over $99. Riedel has been producing hand-blown wine glasses since the 1950's, but what has distinguished them from other manufacturers is their discovery In 1973 that the bouquet, taste, balance, and finish of wines is affected by the shape of the glass from which the wine is drank from. With this knowledge Riedel has produced many different shapes of wine glasses to best highlight the different characteristics of different types of wine, and today offers over 150 different wine glasses and wine products to best showcase your wine.
