Description

Zwilling - Pro 8" Chef's Knife w/Traditional Blade 200mm - 38411-201

The ZWILLING Pro series is a practical all-rounder to meet the highest of demands. The knife series that combines innovative technology and a traditional look. The renowned Milan designer Matteo Thun was appointed once again to package the knife's high level of quality in an appealing design. The result: true classics in a timeless three-rivet design with a continuous tang which can meet all professional cooking demands.

Zwilling

ZWILLING Pro is the most user-friendly knife available on the market. The unique blade shape and ergonomic bolster are the result of 280 years of experience in knife making, and the rigorous study of how knives are used. A unique curved bolster supports the professional pinch grip, with thumb and index finger on the blade, for safe cutting and less fatigue. The blade was redesigned with a broader curve in the front to facilitate the rocking motion of Western cutting, while the straight back is ideal for the Asian chopping motion. The full length of the blade can be used when cutting and can be sharpened from bolster to tip. The knives are made of proprietary special formula steel that has been perfected for over 280 years. Combined with ZWILLING’s signature ice-hardening technique, these FRIODUR blades are harder, sharper, and more stain resistant. Precision-forged from a single piece of steel, these SIGMAFORGE knives have an exceptionally sturdy, balanced and flexible blade. Each knife is honed and hand-finished by the most skilled artisans.

With ZWILLING Pro we introduced an optimized chef's knife blade shape. Through years of experience in professional kitchens, some chefs have grown accustomed to and therefore prefer the traditional blade shape of the chef's knife. To enable these chefs to benefit from the new curved bolster, we have combined the innovative bolster shape with the classic blade shape.

  • Curved bolster encourages cutting with improved precision, safety and comfort
  • POM handle is durable and resiliant
  • SIGMAFORGE knife is forged from a single piece of Special Formula High-Carbon NO STAIN stainless steel
  • Ice-hardened FRIODUR blade starts sharper, stays sharper longer, and has superior resilience
  • Precision-honed blade and laser-controlled edge ensures ideal cutting angle for sharpness and durability
  • Full tang and handle are triple-riveted for superb stability
  • Hardness: 57 HRC
  • Dishwasher safe, hand wash recommended
  • Manufactured in Germany

Past Prepared Us For the Future

In 1731 Peter Henckels registered the ZWILLING trademark with the Cutler’s Guild of Solingen, Germany. A brilliant idea indeed because that makes ZWILLING one of the oldest brands in the world & Germans are well known for their love of traditions. We have a 288-year-old brand history that we are eager to share with everyone & we are a modern, forward-thinking company that is all about future cooking trends & technologies.

CHOOSE ONLY THE BEST INGREDIENTS

Every great recipe starts with great ingredients. When it comes to our high-quality knives and cookware it is our ZWILLING special formula steel. It’s called “ZWILLING Sonderschmelze” and features an impressively well-balanced combination of chrome and carbon, which is the secret to producing a steel of supreme quality. Our master bladesmiths train for 8 years before they get their hands on our knives.

Heat it up

Forging is at the heart of the production of knives. The knife is given its shape by the use of temperature and force under extreme conditions. SIGMAFORGE knives are precision-forged from a single piece of steel. The result is a perfect geometry and we always strive for perfection when it comes to our knives. When you hold a ZWILLING product, you can be sure you are holding a piece of history.

Cool It Down

We have optimized the hardening process to obtain the optimum degree of hardness – because the right hardness is simply everything. If the steel is too soft, the knife will become blunt. If it too hard, it will break. Our special ice-hardening process guarantees flexible FRIODUR blades with extremely good cutting edge retention and exceptional corrosion resistance.
