More than 25 years ago, Sam Farber noticed his wife was having trouble holding a peeler due to arthritis. He saw an opportunity & promised her he'd create a better peeler.... and OXO was born! Today OXO has created over 1000 products that have improved everyday living. Sam chose the company name OXO because no matter how you look at it, it always reads "OXO".
OXO is dedicated to providing innovative products that make everyday living easier. We study people: lefties, righties, male, female, young and old interacting with products & we identify opportunities for meaningful improvement. Our thoughtful, “question everything” process & relentless attention to detail uncover the best solutions for life’s everyday tasks.
Have you ever seen a single glove on the street and wondered who lost it? We have too. As a reminder of the different hands our products need to comfortably fit, OXO employees collect lost gloves around New York City and the world. These gloves are prominently displayed in our office as a reminder that we are not all created with a cookie-cutter mold.
Through the years, OXOnians have devoted their personal time, energy & money to support the Cookie For Kids' Cancer cause, but the company wanted to play even a larger role in the movement to find a cure for pediatric cancer. In 2011, OXO formalized its partnership with Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, pledging to donate up to $100,000 per year to this very worthy cause.
OXO is shipped free across Canada on orders over $99. OXO was founded on the philosophy of Universal Design, which means the design of products usable by as many people as possible. Today, OXO offers 1,000+ products covering many areas of the home, all created based on this principle.
