Works very accurately. Provides quick a-measurement.

This is my third and definitely the best kitchen scale I’ve purchased over the past 15 years or so. It was purchased for bread making, baking and hopefully sausage making in the (near?) future.

PROS: Accuracy : I weighed coins and based on the weights gleaned from the internet the scale is accurate to within less than a gram. Example: a 2016 Loonie should weigh 6.27 grams, the OXO scale showed 6 grams. A 2016 Toonie should weigh 6.92 grams, the scale shows 7 grams. I feel confident using it for smaller amounts such as salt or yeast. My old scale was 2 to 3 grams off and not consistent with the same test.

Easy to read, particularly the pull out display. Nice tactile feel. Shut off is approximately 5 minutes (I timed it) which is ample to weigh your ingredients. My old one was about 2 minutes, way too short. It feels and looks solid. Large capacity.

CON:OXO advertises the removable tray for cleaning, however, on my unit it was hard to remove and required a lot of pressure to replace. I fear constant removal and replacing could cause damage. As the included instructions even advise against storing the scale with anything on it in order to protect the accuracy, I will not be removing the tray. This is the reason for my 4 star rating. Besides, I am always reluctant to give 5 stars.

AN UNFAIR CON. Would be nice if it had a built in rechargeable battery, as a handful of other scales do.

When I placed the order the Chef Supplies’s website stated it was on backorder and…

It took a bit longer for delivery but the product was great and competitively priced.
