All-Clad - 12" Stainless Steel Whisk - T135

I'll begin with saying, this whisk works fine. I bought it because my 30 year old whisk is on its last legs and I needed one for some last minute holiday baking! However, I would have returned it if I didn't need a new whisk so badly, and there are a few reasons for this. First of all, I use some All-Clad cookware and really enjoy it, so I expected this tool to be in the same calibre of quality, but it is not. The finish is shiny, but there are a few areas where the stainless is actually very sharp. It also came caked in flour! I'm not sure if it was a used product, or if it does through some sort of weird testing process in the factory. Regardless, I don't like the idea of receiving a dirty product. There are also some rough gashes on the wire part making it harder to clean. This could also potentially cause damage to a bowl. The whisk is made in China, unlike the All-Clad cookware which is proudly made in the USA. The origin is not specified on the website. Finally, the ergonomics aren't really that great. I thought I would really like the handle because of how much I like my pans, but the shape can feel a little awkward, especially if I were going to do LOTS of whisking. Like I said in the beginning, the whisk works fine and does its job well, but it also sells for a premium price which I don't believe is reflected in the quality. If I were you, I would save your money and get a cheaper one, or otherwise buy something like a Matter that is made in France.
